Letters From Anna
September 2006
The pageant was amazing and I truly couldn't have asked for a better time! It was great to be able to look out off the stage and see so many of our members and friends. Not only did I have a great time with friends and family but I placed well in the pageant, taking home a 2nd Runner-Up Trophy for everyone to see at the Club. Thanks again to everyone who purchased T-shirts, buttons and ads. They made the weekend even more special. Congrats also to Past Princess, Angela Cheety, on her 2nd place prize for the truck full of cheer. I sold her the winning ticket as well as to the 1st place winner from Raccoon Creek Boat Club.
There are so many people to thank for this weekend and you were all terrific. Now, just because the pageant is over, doesn't mean I've stopped representing our Club! I've still been attending many club events along the river. The Yapewi Luau was the week after the pageant and I drove up with Queen Jenna and Princess Leanne. We had a great time getting to know each other better. I was welcomed with open arms at Yapewi and this was my first time there. Last week I attended the Festival of Light Boat Parade in Burlington County. A few DRYL Princesses and the DRYL Queen rode through on a Farragut Sportsmen's Association boat. We had tons of fun, but due to some boat problems, I stayed the night at Farragut where they again showed great hospitality and found me a place to stay with Princess Shana. Next weekend (Sept. 9th) is the Von Neida Picnic at Riverside Yacht Club. This is always a fun event. Those that have attended know how much fun you can have and for those who haven't, come out and find out. There are club competitions in volleyball, horseshoes, and tug-of-war. This is also time for the "King of the Delaware" crowning. There are also many activities for the children to stay occupied with. So come out and join in the fun.
Thanks again, everyone, for all of your unconditional support!! It has meant the world to me and my parents. I am going to the shore for the holiday weekend to enjoy my last weekend of summer. I will be working for the West Deptford freshmen orientation on Wednesday and then school starts on Thursday. I will begin to be very busy with school after that but I will be seeing you all around.
With much Love,
Your Princess
